Woman Who Changed Her Life After She 'Saw A Bigfoot' Is Suing California After National Park Officials Say It Was Just a Bear
So sue me: it's a new headline poem!
This one goes out to the 78 people on Instagram who voted “no” when I put up a poll on stories asking if I should use this headline for this week’s poem.
Sensitive, spiteful, and unable to take even the teeeeniest shred of criticism? COULDN’T BE ME!!!
It’s indeed true that this headline is a doozy—more layered than a 7 layer dip at a Midwestern potluck picnic—but that’s what makes it (and most of us!!!!!) so special, okay?! (She’s a bit much, etc. etc.)
Here’s the article ICYMI: 'I Lost 125 Pounds and Decided to Get a Divorce': Woman Who Changed Her Life After She 'Saw A Bigfoot' Is Suing California After National Park Officials Say It Was Just a Bear
Yes, I truncated the headline for the sake of the newsletter subject line (it’s called artistic license, read a book! (read MY book, actually!!) ) but don’t fret, I kept its integrity in the poem itself.
I sense you fretting when I specifically said don’t fret!
Ok here’s the poem—I knew instantly the theme was about leaping in the face of nonbelievers and what a ‘rare sighting’ it can be to plant the roots of your own little tree within life’s dense forest. I also had the punchline for the piece written before the middle section (one big foot in front of the other) and then worked backwards from there.
But that’s enough about me, here’s more about Bigfoot and Claudia Ackley ◡̈
I’ll close with the Bigfoot Believers Motto: It's time to preorder A BIT MUCH!
Wow, poetic!
xo,
Lynds
P.S. I just remembered that the 404 page for my branding agency makes Big Foot jokes. You’re welcome!
I'll raise my hand as one who voted no - but only because I didn't want to have to continue to see references to the weight loss. People can live like they wanna live, but it's gross to me to see it talked about like it's some kind of grand moral accomplishment to make yourself smaller in the world. So, not that you probably care at this point 😂, but it wasn't a rejection of you or your ideas. Always a big fan! 😊
This poem!!
